Albatross and The Vinyl Suns live at The Hummingbird in Downtown Macon

$5

Albatross: Rising from a town so rich with musical bliss, Athens musical group “Albatross” is making people dance all over the Athens/Atlanta area, with their driven blues/funky grooves and diverse line-up, consisting of founding members of Albatross, Dustin and Matt Urich. The brothers each add their own twist to the music with a wide spectrum of heavy blues/jazz/guitar influences and soulful vocals. The band has been richly rewarded with the dynamic and pulsating rhythm section comprised of Austin Young on Keys/Sax and Scott Tracy on Drums. Austin and Scott, both hailing from bands of their own,(respectively) are well seasoned musicians, delivering a driving beat that demands MOVEMENT. These 4 artist combined lay down a diverse and dynamic flow that appeals to almost any demographic. Albatross, fresh from a period of diligent practice, now continues to entreat the souls of the Athens and Atlanta area with a drive that cannot be held in place!!! Vinyl Suns: The Vinyl Suns burst out of Athens, Georgia in August of 2015 like a phoenix rising from the ashes. After jamming together and enjoying themselves a little too much, it was eventually inevitable to form a band. Blues, rock, and funk have always been the roots for the Vinyl Suns, but there really is no telling what they might do next. A better way to describe them would be... unconfined. You might hear a bit of americana in their sound at one moment and then be surprised by a modern blues riff tearing through the speakers the next. The name really says it all about these four lads, in the end. They will all tell you that naming the band was a tedious task to say the least, but in the end they all agreed on one thing: where they come from. The real music, the soul music, the "four chords and the truth" was born before the digital era. The boys consider their love for music was born in the time of vinyl. A time when change was spontaneous and rebellion was the norm. They owe it all to the Beatles, B.B. king, Zeppelin, the Allman Brothers, James Brown, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Queen; you name it. They are the suns of vinyl, hence they are The Vinyl Suns.

The Voodoo Fix w/ The Young Step live at The Hummingbird in Downtown Macon

$5

The Voodoo Fix:
Formed in the south-side of Los Angeles, The Voodoo Fix are a larger than life rock band that blends genres of rock, funk, and southern soul into one seamless sound. On their new album Back For More, the band ventured into the studio with a feel-good mindset that can be heard loud and clear. Grateful to call Nashville home, The Voodoo Fix brought an element of rock and funk to the local scene with well attended shows at some of Music City’s most popular venues. Most recently, The Voodoo Fix won Lightning 100's Music City Mayhem and is poised for success in Nashville and beyond. Live, The Voodoo Fix puts it all on the table leaving crowds ecstatic, energized, and hungry for more of the high-powered, soul-sustaining rock they provide night after night. The Voodoo Fix lives for their audience and makes music “for the express purpose of making people feel good.” According to bassist Will Halsey, “We are built from the ground up, independent to the bone. I think people appreciate our tenacity and work ethic. We give it everything we got and that comes across to our audience.” The unifying message certainly comes across in the music with lyrics like “You got to find what you love and let it kill you!” In totality, The Voodoo Fix is a band of blue collar road warriors with worldwide history and a formidable future. The Voodoo Fix is Abe Rivers (Vox-Guitar), Will Halsey (Bass-Vox), Scott Parrelli (Guitar) and Logan Todd (Drums) and they are coming to a town near you.

The Young Step:
The Young Step hail from St. Augustine, Florida. The Young Step sound is as obscure and mysterious as the northeast Florida swampland, with subtle impressions of David Bowie, David Byrne, The Doors, Roxy Music, and T-Rex, blended with New Wave quirkiness a'la Devo and the B-52s, and including a sort of 'Rock N' Roll Spiritual' aspect only the lovechild of Alan Watts and Janis Joplin would understand. It's a funky-sexy-quirky mind-trip.

Bella’s Bartok live at The Hummingbird in Downtown Macon

Free

To understand Bella’s Bartok, imagine what you would get if Salvador Dali and Toulouse Lautrec were fronting the Moulin Rouge's house band, and you have the exuberant spectacle that is Bella's Bartok. Described as "about as much fun as you can have with your pants on" (Dan Wolovick, Two Way Monologues), this 6-piece powerhouse melds Bohemian Klezmer Punk with pop sensibilities into an eminently danceable party. The diversity of musicians that make up Bella's Bartok, combined with their boundless energy on stage, has been known to break a dancefloor, or two (or three, but who's counting?). Their sound moves way beyond labels, pushing the envelope towards the darker side of Eastern European music, referencing vaudeville and 20th century eclecticism.

Roshambeaux w/ Ides of June live at The Hummingbird in Downtown Macon

$5

Roshambeaux: /rō/SHam/bō/

The truth is we're not like everybody else. We break a lot of rules and do things our own way. We're a big, rowdy modern electronically twisted rock duo that doesn't sound like anybody else even though they'd like us to say we're just like 21 Pilots, The Black Keys, Royal Blood or even The White Stripes. We're based in Atlanta, GA. We tour big cities and small towns in the Southeast and Midwest United States and treat them all the same because the only thing that matters are the people. We don't have "real jobs," because when we met in 2010 we decided that you can make what you love a job and that's what's "real." We have an album called "Illuminaughty," and we're super proud of it. We're in the studio working on our next release in between tour dates and we are confident it will be the best thing we've done thus far. We don't have an agenda. We just want you to have an experience.
