Amoramora & South Hill Banks live at The Hummingbird in Downtown Macon

$5

Amoramora Featuring an upbeat blend of Funk, Bluegrass, African Highlife and Jazz Fusion, these Rocky Mountain Boys harken back to the early days of the jam-rock scene that just oozed positivity which nurtured bands like Blind Melon, String Cheese Incident, and Strangefolk. Fueled by high-energy improvisation, the undeniable joy this quartet shares onstage and offstage is reflected by their devout and growing fanbase, the Amorheads. Based out of Boulder, CO, the band has a commitment to consistently changing setlists, expanding their already extensive catalog of original material, and stirring the musical gumbo. Along with the deep instrumental blend of guitar, keyboard, trumpet, EWI, bass & drums, all four members are also vocalists. Amoramora played over 100 shows in 60 different cities around the U.S. in 2017 and kept on going, toured to both coasts twice and played two sold-out hometown shows at the Fox Theatre and Boulder Theater. Their song ‘Bloom’ was featured on Sirius XM's Jam On channel, and their song ‘Coming Back’ was featured in Relix Magazine’s August 2017 Issue. South Hill Banks ***Floydfest 17 “On The Rise” Competition Winner*** South Hill Banks – Lance Thomas (vocals, guitar), Eric Horrocks (mandolin, vocals), Ryan Horrocks (banjo, vocals), Dan Fiasconaro (guitar, vocals), and Justin Doyle (upright bass) – have carved a niche for themselves with their jam infused bluegrass sound. Formed in August 2015 in Richmond, Virginia, South Hill Banks pulls from a wide range of influences such as classic rock, jam, blues, to traditional bluegrass to keep audiences entertained with a blend of sounds old and new. First Friday feat. The Orange Constant live at The Hummingbird

$5

Formed in the college bars of Statesboro, Ga. in 2012 and transplanted to Athens, vintage rock outfit The Orange Constant blends southern psychedelia, heartfelt narrative and progressive composition all with a spontaneous yet pop-like sensibility. TOC's debut album, Time to Go (June 2015), was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer John Keane (R.E.M., Widespread Panic) and garnered national attention from Relix Magazine which praised a "confident and polished debut album." Shortly after, the band won the 2016 Flagpole Athens Music Award for best "Jam/Funk" band and joined the Home Grown Music Network whose roster includes Lotus, The Motet, Dangermuffin and Big Something. March 2017 saw the release of Point of Reference, which was recorded in Athens, Ga. and produced by Drew Vandenberg (of Montreal, Kishi Bashi, Futurebirds). Fueled by Vandenberg’s experimental leanings, the sophomore effort displays striking maturity in songwriting and embraces more risk-taking in the studio. The LP demonstrates an urge to break genre restrictions as it draws inspiration from 70’s AOR and contemporaries like My Morning Jacket. Nearly one year after its release, Point of Reference earned the band a second feature in Relix Magazine through its notably “lush soundscapes and clear, purposeful compositions.” The Orange Constant thrives on creating songs that differ from one another and possess their own inspired character. The band shares bills with nationally and internationally touring acts such as Perpetual Groove, TAUK, Atlas Road Crew, Ripe and CBDB. The group is: Andrew Brantley (guitar/vocals), Nickalous Benson (guitar/vocals), Tyler Walker (bass/vocals), Chris Freiberg (keyboards) and Sam Groveman (drums).
