Trae Pierce & the T-Stones live at The Hummingbird
Trae Pierce began playing music at the tender age of 7. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, his first instruments included the piano and guitar before finding his calling on the bass guitar at age 9. After playing with many local bands, groups, and churches, Trae went on the road at 13, sharing stages with the Blind Boys of Alabama, Sugarfoot & the Ohio Players, Dr Hook featuring Ray Sawyer, Emmylou Harris, Susan Tedeschi, James Brown, Peter Gabriel, and more. In addition, Trae has produced toured and recorded with artists such as Flo-Rida, Jodeci, Mavis Staple, Susan Tedeschi, Michael Franti (Spearhead), Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Flava Flav, Ce Ce Peniston, Robert Plant, Robert Randolph Lexxus, Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs & Harmony, K-Ci & Jo Jo, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Randy Travis, Lou Reed, E-Town Live, and the Mighty Clouds of Joy. Trae has made appearances on several national television shows, including the Jay Leno Show, the Wayne Brady Show, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Regis & Kelly, and many more. His movie credits include the Fighting Temptations, Brother Bear, and HOP, which is in theaters now. Trae’s efforts have earned him four Grammy Awards, three Dove Awards, an NAACP Image Award, and in 2010 he was inducted into the Alabama Hall of Fame. Heavily influenced by Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, John Patitucci, and Victor Wooten, Trae has expanded his talents to the next level, and is currently working on a bass-oriented solo project featuring some of the friends made during his 30 years of touring and playing music. Trae, who still tours with the Blind Boys of Alabama and Sugarfoot's Ohio Players, is known for sporting a top hat on stage and wowing crowds with his blistering riffs played on slide (yes, slide!) bass, as well as playing/singing talk box bass. Trae's versatility is well-utilized with his solo project, Trae Pierce and the T-Stone Bnad, which can be found touring and performing at major venues nationwide and worldwide.

Adwela & The Uprising is a nationally touring seven-piece award winning roots reggae band based out of Virginia, United States of America. The music created by Adwela & the Uprising is conscious music that spreads truth. Adwela’s soul stirring lyrics give you no choice but to come to a new overstanding about the world we live in and who you choose to be. Adwela & the Uprising was named Best New Artist in 2015 by Virginia Reggae out of Virginia Beach. They have since blossomed with several national tours under their belt. Adwela & the Uprising’s resume speak volumes by way of media coverage, television appearances, and rave reviews. The highly anticipated first album “The Road Less Traveled” was released March 2017. Charting at #28 on the iTunes reggae album charts while spending three weeks on the top 100 charts. Adwela & the Uprising bring such a unique sound they most certainly stand out in their own right. Musical influences stem from icons such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Jacob Miller, Damian Marley, just to name a few. Adwela & the Uprising will also be touring internationally in September 2018. Adwela & the Uprising continue to grow a faithful following with each performance and tour, and in doing so are grateful for the people they have met along the way. Hailing from the heart of Georgia, The Matt Brantley Band Is a country and southern rock experience that you won’t want to miss. The love they have for the music that they play and the fans that come to see them definitely shines through in each and every performance. You are guaranteed to have an amazing time at a MBB show. After auditioning and placing 2nd in the 2012 Milledgeville Idol competition Matt realized that being a professional musician wasn’t as much of an improbability as he once thought. He soon after began putting a band together and after a couple of personnel changes finally landed on the lineup that felt just right, consisting of ; Matt Brantley (Lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Rowdy Hood (Lead guitar), Jesse Perkins (Bass) and Brayden Long (Drums).

Their legendary live shows and blistering singles have earned the group slots opening for Yawning Man, Truckfighters, Cage The Elephant, White Reaper, Gov’t Mule, Low Cut Connie and Primus .

First Friday feat. Custard Pie live at The Hummingbird
Custard Pie is a Valdosta-based trio that plays psychedelic rock with elements of improv and experimentation. Influenced largely by the more eclectic artists of the past, such as Frank Zappa & Col. Bruce Hampton, or more recent progressive artists like Umphrey's McGee or Phish, Custard Pie formed and started writing in the fall of 2014. The band's first official gig was on June 24th, 2015, as the opener for Tallahassee's Yamadeo, and they have been a mainstay on the Florida music scene, playing festivals, clubs, and theaters, while providing all night jams at almost every festival they appear at, usually playing until the sun comes up. Custard Pie has been fortunate enough to have played on stage with Roosevelt Collier, Danny Hutchens (Bloodkin), Todd Smalley (Derek Trucks Band & Mofro) and Marcus Parsley (Mofro), as well as Uncle Dave Griffin, while playing The Backwoods Fam Jam, Swamptown Getdown, The Great Outdoors Jam, Hulaween and headlining The 5th Annual Creekfest Revival before finishing out 2017 at the Hometeam New Year's Rally at Maddox Ranch. Custard Pie begins work on their debut full length album “Transcendence” in the Summer of 2018. Often likened to bands such as Umphrey's McGee, Frank Zappa, and Pink Floyd, Custard Pie delivers infectious grooves, lush guitar tones, and catchy tunes that turn into sonic journeys as their trademark. Musicfestnews.com review of their set at The Great Outdoors Jam 2017: "We had seen them in the first festival appearance at Backwoods Fam Jam and enjoyed both of their sets, but this set was light years beyond what they were doing just five months back. Then, they were raw rock and blues. Now they were jazzy, spacey, with still plenty of rock to go around."

Back City Woods & Pierce Edens live at The Hummingbird
Back City Woods The South. A region loaded with history to say the least. What can be said about it that hasn’t already been said? Who needs another country act with a new angle on this sordid tale? Besides, if you’ve eaten your Grandma’s peach cobbler, haven't you already had the best? A band out of Middle Georgia called Back City Woods has thought about these perplexing issues and answers with yet another question. Do you still hear the call of the westerly winds whispering through the pines at dusk while rocking in a chair on the porch sweet tea in hand, alone, with the thoughts of a life that could have been? If your answer is yes, there’s hope left for the Southern life after all. If no, spin that dusty record again for old times sake. For the future is in the past, and we’re all dead anyway. You already know everything this band has to say, but they say it anyway, and they’re saying it with soul: louder & longer. They’ve released two award winning EP's and now have a full length album: The Light. The Dark. The Dusk. So what does this album bring to the table? Fiddles, guitars, banjo, songs about heartbreak, small towns, and all that Southern stuff. Also, it’s new, and it’s alive. Like you, like me, like the South. We’re here together sharing a semblance of similar existence, and everyday is new. So why experience the tales of the South from those who are decades in the past? There comes a time when Grandma can't make peach cobbler anymore, do we all stop eating cobbler? As life moves forward, as you move forward, so does music. Back City Woods: The South, today. Pierce Edens As those who have seen him live can attest, Pierce Edens absorbed the songwriting, storytelling and musical styling of the surrounding Appalachian Mountains, where he spent his childhood. This history takes the form of old time, folk and bluegrass music as well as spoken words of storytellers from his North Carolina home; this has earned him the moniker of “Appalachicana.” Over the last ten years, Edens has been drawing on those roots and blending them with the grungy rock and roll sounds that took him in his teenage years. The result is a haunting and fiery mixture that is notoriously hard to pin down. Allmusic.com classifies Edens as both “Folk-Rock” and “psychedelic-grunge,” and No Depression writer Bill Kopp says “[He] could just as easily- and accurately- be tagged with the singer/songwriter label; He’s a gritty troubadour who takes what he needs from each style, blending and bending it to suit the needs of his songs.” Through relentless touring, independently producing 4 albums (with one on the way), one full length concert film, and sharing the stage with musical heroes such as: Jim Lauderdale, Todd Snider, Will Kimbrough, and Sturgill Simpson, Edens has garnered a dedicated following of fans across the nation. And as Fred Mills of Blurt magazine says… “Edens is the R.F.D. (Real effin’ Deal), and when he and his band have their collective back against the wall, there’s trouble in store.”
