Captain Midnight Band plays “Waterbed Rock & Roll” - a unique hybrid of Jam/Rock/R&B with a heavy emphasis on visuals and humor. Formed in New Orleans and currently based in Nashville, the band pays homage to both cities, musically straddling the line between polished and greasy, slick and sloppy, with an unrelenting commitment to dazzling every single person in attendance. Four studio releases and a near decade of consistent touring have earned the band an every-growing fanbase of open-minded music lovers who demand musicality and entertainment. The band's unique appeal has landed them on club, theater, and festival dates with such diverse artists as Dark Star Orchestra, Leftover Salmon, Moe., Twiddle, Tauk, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, NRPS, Yonder Mtn String Band, and many other fabulously freaky acts. Bird Dog Jubilee live at The Hummingbird
Bird Dog Jubilee is a rock-n-roll collection of instrumentalists that blur the lines between structured songs and improvisational jams. While their roots run deep in Atlanta, their act is building up steam throughout Southeastern venues and festivals. Their chutzpah is epitomized by their ability to seamlessly meld tunes while encouraging impromptu collaborations with fellow musicians live on stage. Each member has an eclectic set of influences in which they draw inspiration from, but they can always agree on The Band, Phish, or My Morning Jacket while on the road. The synergy of each member’s experience culminates live on stage providing a unique take each time you attend a performance. Fresh off recording their debut 3-song EP at Prana Studios just outside the Atlanta City Limits, BDJ is ready to let it ring out and jam with you at their next show. Whether they are blending old ballads, or hashing out new grooves, this is act is always a sight to see at their crux. You gotta get up to get down and we are looking forward to seeing you there.
The Bitteroots live at The Hummingbird
For a decade and counting, The Bitteroots have been bringing their original rock formula to stages large and small around Atlanta and beyond. Since its founding in 2008, the band’s groove-oriented approach to rock ‘n’ roll has drawn comparisons to the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin and has landed The Bitteroots onstage at some of the Southeast’s most prestigious festivals, including the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, the Sweetwater 420 Festival, the Summer Shade Festival, the Inman Park Festival and Stone Mountain Park’s Yellow Daisy Festival. Driven by Laura Dees’ powerful, soulful lead vocals, The Bitteroots also include founding members Bill Taylor on bass and Mike Davis on drums. Saxophonist Derron Nuhfer joined the group in 2014, helping round out what has become the band’s unique sonic signature. In early 2018, The Bitteroots added the tasteful yet hard-driving PJ Poellnitz on guitar. The Bitteroots have released five albums of original music with their latest, Derailer, released in early 2019. Other original albums include “French Fries” (2010), “Central of Georgia” (2012), “After The Rain” (2013) and “Under The Big Sky” (2014). The band also released a live album (“Live at The 120 Music Hall”) recorded in 2014.

Collective Sp8ce Album Release Party live at The Hummingbird
Macon's latest musical group Collective Sp8ce will be celebrating their album release party on Friday Jan 8th with a performance at The Hummingbird Stage & Taproom. When combined the group's seven unique individuals form a juggernaut of infectious Pop and Hip Hop that will be sure to have you bouncing on the dance floor. Admission is $5. Must be 18 or older to attend.
